Asics GEL-Galaxy 9 Running Shoes
This all new version of the popular GEL-Galaxy shoe is designed to provide exceptional performance, cushioning and fit ideal for entry-level or low mileage runners. The shoe is lightweight and will provide support and comfort every step of the way.
Breathable Synthetic/Mesh Upper
The Asics GEL-Galaxy 9 is constructed with a synthetic/mesh upper which provides breathability, support, and stability. The mesh allows hot air to diffuse out of the shoe and cool air to permeate the membrane and travel into the shoe, which helps to create a pleasant environment for the feet. Padding on the tongue serves to further enhance your comfort whilst out running. The addition of synthetic overlays on the outer prolong the shoe’s shape and provide additional support to the wearer by locking the foot in place. A removable sock liner also features to provide extra comfort to the wearer. The sock liner can be easily removed and replaced with an orthotic device to help the wearer maintain good running posture. Reflective elements complete the upper and provide illumination whilst the wearer is training in low light.
The GEL-Galaxy features a rearfoot GEL unit which absorbs shock and cushions the impact during the heel strike phase of the gait cycle. The GEL unit is placed close to your foot in order to replicate your foot’s natural tissue. This, in turn, increases the GEL’s functionality and performance, which helps to minimise the stress on your joints and make for a more comfortable ride. The GEL-Galaxy 9’s midsole also incorporates a full stretch EVA midsole platform designed with flex grooves that strategically fold on impact. This folding design reduces the pressure on the underfoot and allows the rearfoot GEL unit encased in the EVA midsole to perform to its maximum capacity.
The shoe features an Asics High Abrasion Rubber (AHAR) outsole. AHAR is a lightweight rubber compound that offers brilliant traction; it also boasts three times the durability of Asics’ standard rubber. AHAR is strategically placed in areas of the outsole that succumb to the most wear and tear, which helps to extend the shoe’s lifetime. The result is an extremely durable outsole with exceptional multi-surface grip.
